Main duties of the job Therapy Assistants work as part of the multidisciplinary team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and dietitians to help support patients achieve what matters to them. Within the inpatient team Therapy Assistants play a key part in supporting a patient’s journey through their care and recovery so they can leave the hospital safely and live independently at home. Your work is critical and essential to facilitate patients to reach an optimum rehab potential and function. Within the outpatient team Therapy Assistants support the outpatient department run smoothly and efficiently and assist with group sessions. The role is very fulfilling, varied and impactful. You may see and be involved with some difficult patient care and at times deliver direct personal care. Within Therapy Services we are invested in your development, and we will support you to stay up to date with all required clinical competencies and assist with your continuous professional development. You will also be supported to develop your healthcare skills to meet the government standards for care within the NHS.
