We are looking for a motivated pharmacy technician to join our diverse team. You will be responsible for delivering a high standard of clinical care to patients at our hospital through the provision of a safe and effective clinical medicines optimisation service. As part of this role, you will work collaboratively with the clinical pharmacy team to bridge the gap between pharmacy and clinical area(s). For further information about the role please contact Melanie Mitchell -- melanie.mitchell@uhb.nhs.uk -- 0121 424 9128 Main Duties, Tasks & Skills Required With a patient-focused approach, you will; Support the pharmacy department in the provision of complete pharmaceutical care to patients; *Deliver a high quality ward based medicines optimisation service to a multitude of areas throughout the Trust; Act as a role model and provide training and mentoring to junior staff members; Support the pharmacy satellite unit in cancer services; Carry out accuracy checking commitments; Key Person Specification Requirements A nationally recognised pharmacy technician qualification and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council; Currently practicing as a registered pharmacy technician with post qualification experience within an acute setting A nationally recognised accredited accuracy checking qualification A professional attitude with the ability to motivate self and others The ability to remain calm under pressure A flexible approach and commitment to accommodate the needs of the service A strong attention to detail Experience working as a clinical pharmacy technician or similar capacity is desirable This post offers in-service development training and the opportunity to gain valuable skills in a clinical role. A requirement to participate in one evening per week, 1 in 7-12 weekends, and one bank holiday per year on a rotational basis will be necessary. Dispensing Accuracy Accreditation. West Midland's scheme or equivalent. Evidence of Continued Professional Development. Accredited Checking Technician (National Framework) or equivalent.
