This post will be an excellent opportunity for doctors who have completedbasic post-graduate leveltraining and want to develop and improve their skills in Trauma and Orthopaedicsat the levels indicated above.The posts can be tailored to the individuals'requirements, including adjusting to working practices in the NHS from outside the UK, entry to Core and Specialist Training within the NHS. Main duties of the job Under the supervision of the Consultant provide to the care of patients in the department with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness or injury. Referral of patients to appropriate in-patientfacilities as appropriate. Involvement in multi-disciplinary teams and meetings. Teaching and supervision of junior staff as appropriate. Involvement in relevant administration duties (e.g.in rota schedules). Active involvement in audit and clinical governance. Play an active role in the day-to-day management and administration of the department. So far asis consistent with the discharge of the above duties, the post-holder shall undertake to deputise for absent colleagues, when the post-holder deputises outside his/her normal contracted duties and commitment, an equivalent amount of off duty shall be given. The post-holder undertakes to be available for such irregular commitments outside normal reserved duties as are essential for the continuity of patient care.
