We have a vacancy for a Community Children’s Band 7 Occupational Therapist to cover a fixed term maternity cover post for 12 months. Based at Mile End Hospital in East London, we are a friendly, innovative and well-established team of therapy staff. This post would suit you if you are interested in working closely with children, parents, teaching staff and other multi-disciplinary team members to develop interventions and strategies that can minimize the impact of disability on a child’s school and home life. Our service vision is to provide care for children and families that is personalized, occupation performance driven and outcomes focused. We base our intervention on current evidence and contemporary theory. We offer excellent and regular supervision and training, opportunities to develop service improvement and leadership skills and promote good links with other agencies. The Trust supports agile and flexible working arrangements. This post will provide an opportunity to work with range of different developmental disabilities including Physical disabilities, Autism, Learning Disability, Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Co-ordination Disorder in Schools and homes . Provide a highly specialist and evidence-based Occupational Therapy Service to a specialist caseload of children with complex health and physical needs attending a designated special and mainstream schools. To assist in the provision of day to day management of junior therapists and Therapy Assistants. To educate and train occupational therapy colleagues, other healthcare professionals, educational staff and undergraduate students regarding this case mix. To provide clinical leadership and expertise to the team in risk assessments and take the lead for managing risk.
