This role will be primarily based at our Totnes Hospital, but will require some shifts at our Preston branch. This is a full time position (40 hours per week), working the below: A mixture of shifts (8am-5pm, 9am-5pm & 10:30am-7:30pm, with an hour for lunch) 1 in 8/9 Saturdays (8am-5pm shift) No Bank Holidays or Sundays At Totnes you would be working alongside another full time receptionist, a PCA, the admin team, at the Preston branch you would be working alongside an RVN. As a Receptionist, you will provide a friendly and efficient service to our clients and their animals. You will need to be able to work well within a team as well as working individually, however support from your peers is always on hand. We are a professional and personable team working in a very challenging and busy environment, which makes the role varied, interesting and no day is ever the same! You will need to have the ability to remain calm under pressure and also show empathy in each situation you encounter, from sharing the excitement of a puppy's first visit to the vets or comforting a client who has received some bad news. Day to day duties of the role will include answering phones, responding to emails, booking appointments, registering new clients, completing insurance forms, dispensing medications, taking payments and providing a warm and welcoming experience to our clients arriving to the clinic. Previous receptionist or customer facing experience is essential. Previous veterinary industry experience would also be highly beneficial but training will be given. Most importantly, we are looking for a team player who is flexible and adaptable - as there are so many aspects to the role, we need someone who is quick thinking and willing to learn!
