Main duties of the job The main purpose of the roles will be to provide expert advanced clinical practice, nursing leadership and collaborative working, service improvement and education to staff and patients independently across inpatient and outpatient settings. The post holders will be a clinical expert practising autonomously as an advanced nurse practitioner within haematology to provide patient centred care. They will be required to deliver independent assessment, clinical examination, clinical decision making and planning of care and treatment including independent prescribing. The post holders will provide inpatient advice and support to medical teams and ward staff for patients with haematological conditions and develop strong professional relationships to ensure safe, good quality care for patients. The post holders will work closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team and will play an integral role in the operational and strategic development of the haematology service. They will provide professional leadership for the Clinical Nurse Specialist team. The post holders will provide a range of education and learning strategies to meet the needs of health care professionals providing care and treatment for patients with haematological malignancies across the organisation.
