This is a fantastic opportunity for current or aspiring Band 7 candidates who are looking to enrich their experience in a new environment.Applicants should be highly competent in serology result validation and will have responsibility for delivering a high-quality routine laboratory diagnostic service managing the technical team & ensuring smooth running of the laboratory. Good knowledge of health & safety processes, automation, communication, team working, and supervisory skills are essential to guide and manage the junior technical staff.You will also play a crucial role in managing our department's quality systems and maintaining UKAS accreditation. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to train the next generation of scientists, passing on your knowledge and passion for your discipline. Good knowledge of health & safety processes, automation, communication, team working, and supervisory skills are essential to guide and manage the junior technical staff. As both biochemistry and serology assays are performed on same platforms, the successful candidate will be expected to work with biochemistry team in harmonisation. The laboratory is covered for 24 hours seven days a week and the successful candidate would be expected to participate in the late/weekend shifts and contribute to the continuity and quality of care for patients in the Trust hospitals. Staff are also expected to work across our six hospital sites when required. Applicants must have a desire to learn and develop within our busy laboratories.
