We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. Band 4 Infection Prevention and Control Personal Assistant An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Infection Prevention and Control team for a highly motivated Personal Assistant. The post holder is expected to provide an extensive and comprehensive administrative service to the Lead Infection Control Doctor (ICD) in the Infection Prevention and Control Team, and other Senior Managers, acting as a key link within the service and liaising with internal departments and a considerable number of external contacts. You must have the confidence to act on your own initiative, work as part of a small team and work within a wider team network, along with processing confidential administrative duties and enquiries efficiently. You must be able to support the team with day-to-day administrative duties but also have excellent planning and overall good organisational and IT skills. The post requires the ability to apply problem-solving skills, manage conflicting demands, and have good time management skills and prioritisation skills along with significant experience in planning meetings and taking detailed minutes. You should have proven experience in a Business Support role and preferably be educated to HNC Level/SVQ Level 3 in a Business Support related subject, or have equivalent experience.
