This busy role includes answering phones, assisting & directing patients, manning front desk, scanning documents, processing prescriptions & any other administrative tasks as & when required. Umbrella Medical is a growing partnership with a very strong emphasis on providing high quality accessible care. We have recently moved to a brand new, purpose built health centre in the very heart of Walsall. In light of this we are looking to recruit reliable, capable & motivated individuals to join our reception team. We are looking for the right candidate/s to work upwards of 20 hours per week. Our surgeries are open Monday to Friday, between the hours of 7:15am - 6:30pm & employees are required to work a combination of early starts & late finishes to meet the needs of the organisation. Although you would be based predominantly at Hatherton Medical Centre, you may be asked to cover at any of our Umbrella Practices for training & development or to cover in times of sickness or annual leave. The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience of working in general practice or the NHS, & experience of dealing with the public both face to face & on the telephone, though anyone with strong customer service skills gained in any environment will be considered. **PREVIOUS APPLICANTS NEED NOT APPLY** To provide an efficient reception and administration service to patients as well as support for clinicians, to enable the effective day to day running of the practice. To undertake clerical duties as necessary and to enter relevant data onto the computer system, working both on your own initiative and as part of a team. The successful candidate will also have: Effective communication skills & excellent listening skills Empathy Ability to work both as part of a team and independently, and be be able to use their own initiative Ability to diffuse sensitive situations with members of the public who are distressed whilst also remaining calm A positive attitude Adaptability Good IT skills (EMISweb experience an advantage) "}
