This role provides the opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to maintain their clinical expertise in a hands-on role whilst in a leadership position to ensure high quality Occupational Therapy provision is provided to the people we serve. For this role we offer training and development in physical health skills, model of human occupation assessment tools, occupational formulation and SMART goal setting, sensory informed approaches and leadership. Role The purpose of the role of Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist within the Mental Health of Older Adults and Dementia Inpatient Services is: To lead on the planning, coordination and delivery of Occupational Therapy provision within the Older Adults and Dementia Inpatient and Specialist Care services as part of the Psychological Medicine and Older Adult (PMOA) Directorate. To have an element of clinical input through group work or individual complex cases with services users within the Older Adult and Dementia inpatient pathway. Using evidence based / client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate occupationally focused interventions for adults within the acute stage of their illness. We provide acute inpatient services for older people with severe and complex mental health needs as well as services for adults of all ages who have dementia. The Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist works across the following four sites to provide senior input and support to the ward based Occupational Therapy Teams; Aubrey Lewis 1 Ward, Maudsley Hospital, Denmark Hill, London, SE5 8AZ Hayworth Ward, Ladywell Unit, University Hospital Lewisham, London, SE13 6LW Chelsham House, Bethlem Royal Hospital. Monks Orchard Road, Beckenham, Greater London, BR3 3BX Greenvale Specialist Care Unit, Voss Court, London, SW16 3BS Base negotiable with the successful candidate.
