An exciting opportunity has arisen to join NHS Fife Out of Hours Nursing Team. We have a base at Glenrothes Hospital & Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline. You will be required to have excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills. A flexible approach to working within the community and an interest in caring for patients in their own home is required. You will be required to deliver a high standard of safe and effective patient care within patient's homes and must have the ability to work autonomously. The post is 20 hours per week, which will be worked over Evening and Overnight over 7 days, including weekend working, to meet the needs of the service. The post will be based in one of the above hospitals’ however the post holder may be required to work in other areas across Fife. An orientation programme will be available to support you in this post. An ability to travel within the Fife area is essential. NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid, until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
