Main duties of the job The Consultant Clinical Psychologist in (FND) is a key and highly valued member of the multidisciplinary team providing clinical leadership jointly with the team's Consultant Neuropsychiatrist. The post is an integral part of the service, supporting patients, families and the clinical teams. The post holder must have doctorate level training in clinical psychology, highly specialist knowledge in neuropsychology and therapeutic approaches with a strong evidence base for treating people with a diagnosis of FND, and experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams. About us The post holder will be a member of the Department of Psychological Professions. The Department provides Neuropsychology services in Acute, Tertiary, Vocational and Community Rehabilitation settings for patients with acquired neurological disorders, their families and carers. Clinical Health Psychology services are provided to cancer, chronic pain, diabetes, haematology, palliative care, renal, and trauma and orthopaedics. The Department is committed to clinical supervision, continuing professional development and career progression. The Department has excellent links with St George's Hospital Medical School and the University of Surrey. Job description Job responsibilities The post holder will: Be a clinical lead within the Wolfson FND neurorehabilitation pathway, coordinating the work of the psychologists in the wider team alongside continuing to develop the service in line with the strategic aims of FND services nationally. Responsible for leading the development of psychological formulation that will guide the delivery of multidisciplinary treatment plans Delivering psychological treatments to people with FND as part of the MDT Focus on developing a strategy for establishing a FND neuropsychology service across the Wolfson rehabilitation pathway, and engaging key stakeholders in the process. Lead on developing policies and procedures for the MDT Recruitment and selection of junior psychology staff to work in the service Work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the MDT and the wider neurorehabilitation FND services at Queen Marys and St Georges Hospitals. Ensure systems are in place and working effectively for clinical and professional supervision and the support of all MDT members, for which the post holder has designated professional responsibility, including clear systems for effective professional appraisal, and the identification of CPD needs across the service.
