At Newton Abbot we ensure that nursing staff available throughout the 24hr period, ensuring high standards of care and safety are maintained at all times and to provide visible leadership. You will also be working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure seamless care and discharge planning is provided and will be excellent communicator and role model to ensure you can lead both the ward, team and the community hospital team in the absence of the Ward Manger or Matron. Flexible approach to working, able to manage da to day challenges of ward based nursing and management of a team. Assist and undertake audits, support staff with PDRs, be part of Pathway to Excellence and Shared Governance meetings. Service delivery and improvement. Staff and own development Supporting patients and relatives in the provision of their care and and ensuring they make informed decisions Work collaboratively with other professionals Newton Abbot Hospital is a Community Hospital with 2 inpatient wards, Out-Patient Services and an Urgent Treatment Centre. Templer Ward is a 30 bedded ward with 20 bed dedicated to stroke and neuro rehabilitation.
