Our services are delivered at community bases, hospitals, clinics and in peoples homes operating across the multiple counties of Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire, Swindon and Bath and North East Somerset (BaNES). Adult Community Speech and Language Therapy Services are an NHS service providing community support to adults with speech, language and communication needs in Oxfordshire, plus supporting adults with eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties. The Responsibilities If you are successful in your application to this post, you will be expected to manage and deliver on the responsibilities outlined below as well as those not included here, call today to discuss further: To assess, develop and implement specialist speech and language therapy treatments for patient with both communication and swallowing and feeding disorders. To make appropriate clinical decisions following assessments, including differential diagnosis on the basis of evidence from assessment and develop clear care plans based on best practice. To use clinical skills to generate written reports reflecting specialist knowledge To provide appropriate specialist intervention and evaluate outcomes. To use skills to generate appropriate strategies for caseload management for complex clinical issues. Provide advice to others regarding the management and care of patients/clients. Working collaboratively with various professions across a variety of locations and agencies. To monitor auditory, visual and kinaesthetic aspects of clients communication, adapting and facilitating according to perceived client needs. To be successful in applying for this role you will need: Degree level qualification or equivalent in Speech and Language Therapy To be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Experience of working in the NHS Enhanced DBS Formal dysphagia training Excellent interpersonal skills Person Specification Qualifications Essential Relevant degree or equivalent HCPC Registered Essential Criteria Essential Enhanced DBS In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of Relevant Qualifications Registration with the relevant Registration Body if applicable.
