Nuffield Health at St Barts opened last year so we are still developing our services and this role will give you a unique opportunity to help develop the service and grow with it. As a Senior SACT Staff Nurse, you will: Assess patients' health and wellbeing across a complex and changing caseload of Oncology patients. Assist in the delivery of care to meet individuals' health and wellbeing needs throughout the cancer treatment pathway. Provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information related to patient care. Assist in maintaining and developing cancer services. Contribute to quality improvement within cancer services. Work well with consultants who are experts in their field, including supporting Oncology outpatient clinics. Working with external organisations to ensure best outcomes for patients. Develop own knowledge and skills in the management of SACT. Champion a supportive, enabling working culture in the unit, promoting staff safety. Promote people's equality, diversity and rights. Qualifications and Training Essential Registered Nurse with significant post registration experience in a SACT administration environment. Qualified in venepuncture and cannulation and the use of CVAD's with evidence of regular competency assessment. Qualified in the Safe handling and administration of SACT (accredited course) with evidence of regular competency assessment. Completion of UKONS SACT passport. Teaching & Assessing course, (ENB 998 or equivalent). Must have or be undertaking a recognised course in advanced Communication skills. Desirable Experience of managing complex patients in a nurse led setting. Knowledge and Technical Ability Essential Competence across a range of nursing skills supported by professional and clinical knowledge Possess mandatory training requirements, including ILS, infection control and health and safety, equipment and medical devices. Demonstrate principles of accountable practice English language to IELTS 7.0 Demonstrates the ability to be involved in undertaking audit. Desirable Continuing professional development.
