HCA experience is desirable but not essential. As a department we value all of our team members and are committed in the promotion and development of staff development. You will be expected to attend and complete a Trust induction program. Moving patients between wards, Theatres and Recovery departments Assisting in the care of the surgical patient during the peri-operative period by supporting the multidisciplinary team. Supporting the Theatre personnel in providing a safe, high quality environment for the carrying out of surgical procedures by: Assisting The Clinical Practitioners with procedures Providing basic patient care. Assisting in the general upkeep and maintenance of stock levels Prepare and set up theatre prior to theatre list. General circulating duties as instructed/requested from qualified members of theatre team. Assist the safe transit of the patient to and from the ward and between areas within day theatres, before and after surgery, and to ensure safety of any equipment that is attached to the patient. Provide a knowledgeable and safe assistance with the transfer of the anaesthetised patient from the patient’s trolley to the operating table using the hospital policy for manual handling of patients. Assist with the positioning of the patient for a surgical procedure. Undertake pressure area care using pressure relieving practices and devices as advised by registered staff. Ensure all documentation is recorded accurately, legibly signed and dated in accordance with Trust policies and procedures and countersigned by registered staff as appropriate.
