This is a unique opportunity to join the team at a band 6 level and help to lead this team through the ever changing dynamic that is surgery at present. We are looking for an effective communicator, who can support the senior sister and existing band 6 team to lead this ward moving forward. Adapting to the changing environments and supporting the staff to continue to deliver the high standard of patient care that is currently in place on the ward. In surgery team work is essential to ensure we offer a high quality service, with the aim of ensuring clinical outcomes are excellent, patients are safe and staff are skilled and productive. We aim to exceed the expectations of our patients and their families. 308 is currently a 29 bedded general surgery and urology ward taking direct admissions for elective surgery and post operative patients from theatres, day case and critical care for all surgical and urology inpatients as well as taking emergency urology and general surgery patients from SAU. As a band 6 you will also be supported to hold the surgical unit at times to support the wider surgical business unit. Ward 308 is an area that is used to change and as such this is a fast paced, dynamic ward that prides itself on looking after all surgical specialities. As part of this we have been focusing on team time outs days to continually educate and train all the staff to update them on all the knowledge base that they will need. The management team on the ward are expected to work closely with the Surgeons and Education team to achieve this.
