The Lothian Parent and Infant Relationship Service (PAIRS) is a small multi-disciplinary team supporting parent-infant relationships in the first three years of life, to promote optimal infant mental health. We provide assessment, formulation and a range of evidence based group and one-to-one interventions for infants and their parents / carers. We also provide indirect support through training, consultation and reflective practice to a range of professionals and services working with infants. The Maternity & Neonatal Psychological Interventions (MNPI) team is a Lothian-wide service for women and birthing people and their families for intervention related to the impacts of complex pregnancy, birth or neonatal care experiences. The team offer assessment, indirect support via the maternity team, and direct interventions to support emotional coping during pregnancy and neonatal care, and emotional recovery/support for the developing parent-infant relationship in the first year following complex experiences of birth or neonatal care.
