We are seeking a full time band 3 Patient Access Officer to support our busy Dietetics department and the big team of 150 plus Dietitians. The Patient Access Officer role is vital to delivering care for patients requiring a dietetic intervention or treatment. The successful candidate will be working predominantly in the Tier 3 Healthy lifestyle team. The Tier 3 team specialise in providing healthy lifestyle advise for patients suffering complex obesity related dietetic issues. The administrative team handle the booking and coordination of these clinics and appointments, as well as manage the incoming referrals prior to clinical vetting and answering patient queries. Please not this is an admin role and does not involve any clinical work with patients. The post holder will be responsible for acting as the first point of call for patients requiring an appointment in dietetics. You must be flexible to the needs of the service, attend meetings when necessary and have excellent communication skills. This role demands that you work well as part of a team, be professional at all times, multi-task, be able to prioritize and work under pressure and have a flexible approach to work. You will have excellent organizational, communication and IT skills and will be passionate about providing a high quality customer service to your patients and colleagues. In addition to this, it is vital to have a strong sense of when to escalate to the clinical team and/or manager. The successful applicant will be expected to develop strong working relationships with a wide range of people and work closely with the dietitians, admin staff and management.
