We are in a great location with views of one of the city’s biggest parks. This is a great opportunity to cover Maternity leave for a year. We are dedicated to the provision of a high standard of care for people undergoing breast investigations, surgery and other treatments. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Health Care Assistant to join our small team in outpatients based at the Park Centre for Breast Care in Brighton. You will be expected to work under the supervision of a senior health care assistant as well as being able to be self-directed at times. You will have a daily working relationship with our well established team of Macmillan Breast Care Nurse Specialists, Macmillan Advanced Nurse Practitioners and the Screening Nurse for Breast Care as well as our team of doctors. You should have demonstrable experience of working within a ward or hospital outpatient setting. We have a strong commitment to high levels of support and ongoing relevant education and training within the nursing team in order to facilitate your development. Welcome patients and visitors to the department, directing specific enquiries to nursing or medical staff. Act as patients’ chaperone for medical examinations in clinics where necessary. Assist patients with dressing and undressing, maintaining the dignity and privacy of the patient at all times. At all times work in a way that eliminates the risk of infection to patients. To undertake housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, tidying and disposal of waste and dirty linen in accordance with Trust policy. To actively promote cleanliness and safety in the clinical area. To monitor levels of clinical supplies and inform qualified staff of order requirements. To check the emergency equipment daily and report faults to the nurse in charge promptly.
