If you are looking to progress your mental health career pathway, our wards can offer you a great environment that will enable you to develop your skills & confidence as a Ward Administrator. Sorrel is a mixed 11 bed Psychiatric ICU that provides care to vulnerable adults detained under the MHA. The ward provides a low stimulus environment for patients who have specific needs and associated risks that cannot be managed on other wards. Based in Reading, located close to the amenities of the town centre and a leafy park, the ward works closely with patients and families to help them to identify their needs and participate actively in their care, providing a place of empathy, kindness and compassion. Highly organised, you will enjoy working in a busy environment and will have demonstrable office work experience. You’re able to adapt at problem-solving and have excellent oral and written communication and people skills. Willing to learn, you will show initiative and be highly motivated, and feel confident in handling confidential and sensitive information with care and respect. The post holder is required to provide administrative and clerical support to an adult acute ward. The post holder will work as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team and assist in the promotion of high-quality service. To have effective communication with all disciplines, patients and relatives. To accept tasks under the direct supervision of the professional nursing staff, maintaining close liaison with those concerned and reporting back. To monitor stationary, stock food stores, non-clinical stores and re-order as necessary, to liaise with ISS regarding work repairs/faults.
