We are looking for an empathetic, caring, enthusiastic and motivated individual to manage the Trust's Bereavement Services Team. You need to be able to organise yourself and others, to co-ordinate a wide range of tasks within tight timescales, to work under pressure and show initiative You will play an important role in the effective organisation and coordination of the Bereavement Service. Bereavement Services are the team who work alongside the Medical Examiners team to arrange for the Medical Cause of Death Certificates for our deceased patients to be completed. Bereavement Services speak to and liaise with bereaved relatives and co-ordinate with the Medical Examiners team, the mortuary team, the Coroner's Office, funeral directors and Registrars. As a member of the team you must be computer literate, used to working on the telephone, able to listen and support the bereaved, as well as your colleagues. This role will primarily be based at Kent and Canterbury Hospital. However, you will be required to travel across all three sites of the Trust for staff line management and to cover the service during times of staff leave or during busier times. You will need to flexible, you may need to travel to one of the other sites at short notice to cover the service. The successful candidate will work closely with our Bereavement team to deliver a high quality customer service and provide well managed administration on a day to day basis. You will be responsible for ensuring the offices are covered, for arranging all the adult and baby contract funerals and ensuring our PTL database is updated and accurate. You will coordinate the service, line manage and help to develop staff. You will need to work operationally across the three sites to cover staff leave. You must like working with people and want to help and support our bereaved relatives, as well as make a positive contribution to our team and our service.
