Endoscopy Decontamination Technician Department: Endoscopy Band 2 £23,615 per annum pro rata Hours: 15 hours per week - Friday & Saturday- (7.5 hr days) Friday 12.00-20.00 Saturday rotation anytime from 08.00 -16.00, 09.00-17.00, 11.00-19.00 or 12.00 -20.00 Hours may be reviewed regularly and may be subject to change. MKUH are looking for a Decontamination Technician to join our friendly and collaborative Decontamination team. The Unit provides a vital service reprocessing surgical instruments for use in all wards and departments within the Trust. You will be involved in the cleaning, inspecting, assembling, packing, sterilising and distributing surgical equipment for supply to Wards, Departments, Theatres and Endoscopy. Successful candidates will require attention to detail and an eagerness and ability to learn. You will receive a comprehensive in-house training programme for the role. The role is physically demanding, lifting and handling heavy instrument sets and long periods of standing. It is necessary to transport theatre equipment around the hospital using trolleys. As a clinical support service the department is operational 6 days a week, supported by an on-call service to meet the demands of the hospital.
