The job will include some housekeeping and light portering duties. The post holder will be involved with the direct handling of uncontained body fluids from patients. General To co-operate fully with senior staff to ensure quality and maintain standards in the Phlebotomy Service within the Trust. To assist in achieving day to day service objectives. To take part in ensuring implementation and adherence to Departmental & Trust policies and procedures. To help foster a high professional standard and encourage good staff relationships. To take part fully in the daily routine of the Phlebotomy service. This may involve light portering duties and general messenger duties. To maintain patient confidentiality at all times. To participate in a system of performance review as required by the Phlebotomy Manager. To work as guided by Advanced Phlebotomists, and as directed by Senior Phlebotomists on the Wards, Outpatients Department, or occasionally in outreach clinics. To participate as part of a team to provide Phlebotomy cover for weekend and Bank Holiday rotas.
