A rare opportunity has arisen to join the Dietetics Department at Glan Clwyd Hospital as a Specialist Acute Vascular and Diabetes Dietitian. Vascular surgical patients can have complicated acute and chronic nutritional presentations which require specialist dietetic treatment. A comprehensive nutritional assessment and care plan considers macro- and micronutrient intake, comorbidities that affect the ingestion of nutrients, appropriate route of nutritional support, medications that affect wound healing and/or serum glucose levels, and the overall medical, nutritional and metabolic status of the patient. Our Acute Dietetic Service are looking to recruit a band 6 Clinical Specialist Dietitian to provide this specialist service to the Vascular Ward and MDT, and to be an integral member of the Conwy & Denbighshire (Central BCUHB) area Acute Dietetic team (3 days). In addition, support will be provided to the Clinical Diabetes team (2 days) to provide specialist input, including assessment for patients with gestational diabetes, Type 1 and 2 diabetes, including group education, one to one assessments and working closely with the Diabetes MDT. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply. "}
