We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and innovative person to work with us as a Rehabilitation assistant in our Elective Orthopedic Therapy team based at Trafford Hospital. The Rehabilitation Assistant role will support occupational therapists (OT) and physiotherapists (PT) in their roles and work under their supervision. You will be responsible for delivering therapy interventions across Day-case and In-patient settings based at the Trafford Elective Hub, while being supported by robust supervision and training. You will work closely with the qualified therapy team to assist with assessment and treatment interventions for a varied elective orthopaedic caseload. The post holder will be supported to develop the skills to work effectively in this role using a competency-based approach. The successful candidate will be a confident communicator, able to adapt their communication style to patients with a variety of needs, including cognitive difficulties, and be able to work well in a team. Basic IT skills are essential as this role does involve some office-based duties as well as keeping electronic records. An understanding of the role of OT & PT would be beneficial. You will be responsible for following treatment plans to deliver exercise and mobility programmes, and personal and domestic activities of daily living practice. There is a requirement to undertake moving and handling of patients on a regular basis. The role involves supporting some community activities such as environmental and home assessment visits. Alongside the clinical interventions, there is responsibility for administration duties - ordering equipment, recording statistics and maintaining stock items.
