Each Team Provides antenatal care and support with home birthing, for women and families within Camden, Islington, Barbican and Soho support for women within our birthing centre in the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson wing, next to University College Hospital post-natal care, in-clinic and via home/community visits. You will be on-call once or twice monthly for home births. A shift pattern including night and weekend working is in place at the birthing centre; this attracts a pay supplement. You will probably already be working as a Band 6 midwife and looking to broaden your skills and experience. You will be comfortable working autonomously, as part of a well-supported team. Applications are also accepted from midwives currently working at Band 5 who have completed their preceptorship. As the role offers the opportunity for clinical rotation into all areas of our maternity service, you will be looking to maintain and develop your wider clinical skills. Developing and implementing Audit, Quality and Risk Management initiatives. To participate in training programmes as appropriate and to teach and act as a facilitator/preceptor to midwifery or non-midwifery staff. To promote and maintain effective communication.
