We are looking for a highly organised, enthusiastic Dental Nurse to join our Team, to support delivery of high-quality dental care and advice to patients residing within Forth Valley. The post holder will be an essential member of the Public Dental Service team and will work with the local dental teams to improve the oral and dental health of the local population. The post holder will be required to support clinical care and also drive forward the Scottish Government’s Dental Action Plan Programme’s including Paediatric Oral Health Programme’s. Working as part of the multidisciplinary team the post holder will visit establishments such as schools, Care Homes, Prisons, independent contractors and NHS Forth Valley Primary & Acute Care Departments across the Board area, to deliver awareness and training sessions for children and adults designed to improve oral health. Your location will vary, determined by the needs of the service, therefore, the ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post. The post holder will be a Registered Dental Nurse with significant experience and a qualification in Oral Health Education/Promotion (NEBDN, BETEC or Royal Society of Health or PDA in Delivering Oral health Interventions). The course is also available for applicants willing to work towards an oral health qualification. Applicants who do not hold the necessary Oral Health Qualification will be subject to Annex 21 AFC terms and conditions. The conditions of this post require the successful completion of the necessary qualification within 18months of commencing the course or 24 months of taking up post. Failure to complete within the agreed timescale will mean the post holder will be subject to redeployment as a band 4 dental nurse within the Forth Valley area. This post will also be considered as in training position under Annex 21 of the Agenda for Change terms & conditions. The duties of this post require the successful candidate to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
