The post holder will offer renal transplant follow-up clinics and renal procedures at Royal Preston Hospital including medical PD catheter insertion and renal biopsies. On call requirement 1:12. The post holder will join 18 consultants to maintain and improve the care offered to patients across our tertiary renal service. Standard duties of a substantive Consultant consist of: - Undertaking continuing professional development. - Contributing to the education of departmental staff and students in training. - Development of individual and collaborative research activity. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting-up a new Post-Transplant follow-up clinic at the John Sagar Renal Centre to look after renal transplant patients in the Burnley area. They will also support the transplant clinic at Royal Preston Hospital which is set-up to repatriate recently transplanted patients from Manchester Royal Infirmary typically 6-8 weeks after transplant. The advertised role includes participation in the on-call rota.
