We have an exciting opening for a Band 7, BABCP accredited CBT therapist to join us in Wirral Mental Health Support Team, Children and Young People’s Mental Health Service (CYPMHS). Whilst we have funding for full time hours for this post, we are open to applications from those who would like part-time hours or a term time contract. Education The Mental Health Support Teams are part of an exciting project funded by NHS England, Health Education England and partners, with the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties in Wirral Schools. The main focus of Mental Health Support Teams are: To provide support and advice to school staff through consultation and training To provide evidence-based interventions for children and young people with mild-moderate mental health difficulties on a 1-1 or group basis To support schools in their development of a Whole School Approach to Mental Health The post holder will be responsible for supporting the delivery of evidence-based CBT interventions in schools for children and young people aged 5-18. They would be expected to hold a case load of young people presenting with moderate mental health difficulties, and moderate to high levels of complexity. The post holder will also co-facilitate CBT based parenting programmes. The post holder will work closely with other senior members of clinical staff to enhance the quality and effectiveness of individual CBT informed interventions offered. They will support the development of staff through supervision, training and consultation, and support the application of CBT principles to clinical work. Understanding the speciality of low intensity CBT informed practice within the context of MHST is essential. It is hoped that the post-holder will be willing to undertake a postgraduate qualification in the supervision of low intensity CBT interventions, to enhance the clinical supervision offer to EMHPs and CYWPs in Wirral MHST. The post-holder will be based at Maple House, Birkenhead, though may also be required to work from our other bases across Wirral. The post is offered on a permanent basis.
