This post is also being offered as a development post - Band 6 OR Band 5 (Annex 21 during development) The Fife podiatry service provides a comprehensive prevention and early intervention service to the population of Fife. An opportunity has arisen for a specialist podiatrist to join the service within the health and social care partnership. Alternatively, this post is being offered as an exciting opportunity for recent or upcoming graduates wishing to increase and develop their full range of clinical skills. This would be at Band 5 for an initial period (anticipated to be 2-2.5 years) developing competencies supported by different forms of learning, strong mentorship and supervision arrangements. Following this period, progression would be to Band 6 under Annex 21. You will be expected to offer a full range of treatments to support individuals to maintain their independence and will possess excellent communication skills to promote well being. As a valuable member of the podiatry team you will be able to utilise your skills and knowledge to drive the ongoing development of the podiatry service to meet the needs of the local population. We are looking for podiatrists who share our goals of providing person centred care. Consideration would be given to full time, part time or job share. A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment. NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
