The post holder will work closely with the the Associate Director of Nursing for Safeguarding and Learning disabilities, and the wider senior management team including the Lead Nurses & Midwives, Heads of Nursing & Midwifery for inpatient and community services across BWH and BCH. The successful candidate will be required to work with multi-professional colleagues from across the Trust and external partner organisations, including primary care, the Local Authority and other partner agencies. Experience of leading change utilising continuous improvement methodologies and influencing practice, as well as working in multi-professional teams and across organisational boundaries is essential, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Main duties of the job To provide professional leadership and support to the nurses working within the Learning Disabilities team to enable them to deliver a world class service to Learning Disabilities and Autistic patients in a safe and effective manner.To lead the Learning Disabilities service within BWC within the BCH and BWH hospital settings, providing support to nursing and midwifery teams internal and external, patients and carers whilst acting as a resource for healthcare professionals within the hospital.The above is to be performed using evidence-based practice, with expert specialist skills and knowledge delivered in the context of partnership with families and other carers.Provide professional nursing leadership through a strong visible clinical presence within the Learning Disabilities Liaison team and across BWC to develop midwifery and nursing practice and theprovision of a safe effective and high-quality care environment for children, young people and their family and carers.
