The post will rotate on a four monthly basis across acute inpatient specialities. These include Trauma and Orthopaedics, Medicine, Surgery and Stroke services. As part of the rotational service you will work closely with several different disciplines under the supervision/direction of the therapists. You will specifically be learning and carrying out duties for the Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists. You will have a hands-on role with patients, undertake a variety of clinical tasks and will be supporting the clinical teams with administration duties. You must be motivated, enthusiastic, demonstrate initiative and commit to assisting with the delivery of high quality care. Main Duties And Responsibilities To partake in a four monthly rotation working across several inpatient therapy services Under the direction of a qualified registered therapist (OT/PT) assist with patient therapy activities Prepare patients for treatment ensuring a safe environment To be able to accurately report back to the therapists any work undertaken Monitor stock and keep up to date with documentation i.e. filing, photocopying To assist patient with independent prescribed practice provided by qualified therapists To work alongside therapists/other assistants to run patient activity groups when required To assist in communication screens when required We hold a unique position in the Stockport community as the provider of healthcare and we are one of its largest employers.
