The York Research and Development department has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our team. You will be supporting our Mission of enhancing patient outcomes and experiences through access to research, for all our patients and staff. And our Vision of working together to strengthen the research culture within our Trust and to embed research into everyday clinical practice. Experience of working on clinical trials and management of a portfolio of studies and completion of Good Clinical Practice training would be advantageous. For current NHS employees, please seek permission from your current line manager before applying for this post on a secondment basis. The role of the Research Nurse is to assist in the management and co-ordination of research projects involving patients, families and carers at York and Scarborough NHS Foundation Trust. This post will involve the safe conduct of research involving both NIHR portfolio studies and industry funded research, within the Yorkshire and Humber Clinical Research Network. The role will involve facilitating the aims of the NIHR at a local level by ensuring that the Trust meets its targets for research delivery. You will work as an integral part of the Research team co-ordinating, delivering, monitoring and recording the care and progress of patients involved in research studies and clinical trials. You will also promote the work of Research within the Trust and contribute to development of the Surgical and Family Health portfolio of trials. Experience working within ICU is essential. You will ensure that all elements of clinical trial work is carried out in accordance with UK and EU legal requirements, Trust policies and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and regulatory requirements to provide assurance that the rights, safety and wellbeing of patients are protected.
