As an Emotional Wellbeing Counsellor, you'll bring experience of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem and you will be familiar with a step-care approach to therapy. You will have a bachelor's degree in Counselling, Psychology or related field with a minimum 2-year post degree experience in counselling and be BACP accredited. The purpose of this exciting new role is to support the delivery of a range of psychological interventions and stepped care treatment (Step 2) in a private care setting to people with common mental health problems. As our Emotional Wellbeing Counsellor, you will: Assess and support people with a common mental health problem in the self-management of their recovery. Undertake patient centred interviews which identify areas where the person wishes to see change and/or recovery and make an accurate assessment of risk to self and others. Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the Nuffield Health referral protocols, and refer clients on to the relevant support agencies /GP or back into the business to step-up the person's treatment to high intensity - where our service is not appropriate. Ensure the maintenance of standards of practice according to NH and any regulations and keep up to date on new recommendations/guidelines set by the department of health. Ensure that client confidentiality is protected at all times adhering to the information governance guidelines policy. Be aware of and keep up to date with advances in treatment for common mental health problems. Keep up to date all records in relation to continuing professional development and maintain up to date specialist knowledge of latest theoretical and service delivery models/developments.
