Location : Seaton Learning Centre/Aberdeen City Wide Duration : Fixed Term to 31/03/25, Full Time 37h About The Role This is a city-wide role within the CLD service to support working in partnership with schools, health and third sector partners to support and challenge families, improve their access to education and enhance their ability to support their children’s learning and development. You will develop family learning programmes and provision for families across the city through group work, 121’s and digital delivery. You will improve outcomes for families in relation to health and wellbeing in line with local and national strategic priorities. Requirements The post holder needs to hold as a minimum: Degree in Community Learning and Development or equivalent i.e. Social Work / Early Years Membership of Community Learning and Development Standards Council, or commitment to join within first 3 months of appointment PVG Membership for Regulated Work with vulnerable children or willingness to obtain prior to a formal offer of employment being made Responsibilities The post holder needs to demonstrate: Skills & Experience In Facilitating personal and social development and active citizenship through provision of learning programmes and activities Very strong communication skills Developing and maintaining very positive relationships with customers and partners An understanding of the challenges and barriers some family learners face Providing clear, honest advice and guidance for families Providing written reports to a high standard Presentations skills and delivery of outreach to range of partners/learners Time management and ability to prioritise tasks Use of new technologies in service delivery and development Using self-evaluation to drive improvement An Understanding Of Substantial knowledge, experience and understanding of supporting vulnerable families in groups and/or in their own home and 1-2-1 learning approaches within regeneration areas Relevant local and national policies relating to CLD, lifelong learning, parental involvement, and early years Partnership working Equalities agenda Best practice relating to health and safety in the workplace Evaluation methodology to continuously improve service Delivering results within a customer focused organisation Commitment To Continuing professional development Continuous improvement of services based upon reliable evidence Supporting the delivery of the Aberdeen City Council vision for Aberdeen as a place all people can prosper Principles and values for Community Learning and Development The Individual Please see Job Profile for further details Aberdeen City Council is an equal opportunities employer and we are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.
