The successful candidate will join the already established Senior Social Worker on the unit and work closely with them on the unit. CAMHS inpatient experience is desirable but other forms of experience can be considered. The role will be within the CAMHS inpatient service. We therefore require a person who has a sound knowledge base of the relevant legislation and underpinning guidance that helps us to support and improve well-being in children and young people. As part of the social work team the postholder will work within an MDT where the social work responsibilities are key in promoting well-being and supporting discharge planning through having an excellent ability to undertake robust social care assessments that feed into CPA and children's social care. the purpose for this is to be part of the decision making process that affords children and young people the best opportunities that are available to them. An interest in this service user group is essential so as to develop positive working relationships with both service users, colleagues and families and carers. The role will be challenging so an ability to work as a team is important to strive to achieve the best outcomes possible for children and young people. The postholder will also need the ability to challenge others so an ability to demonstrate this professionally is essential.
