An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join the Sheffield Speech and Language Therapy Service on the Bank with NHS Professionals. The applicant will be based in the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals SLT service working as a member of the acute team providing a service to individuals with communication and/or swallowing problems, covering wards at Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Northern General Hospital and Western Park. To make a differential diagnosis on clients communication/swallowing on the basis of evidence from assessment seeking advice as appropriate To develop clear care plans based on best practice To attend relevant training and development in order to maintain and develop specialist skills and knowledge To develop a working knowledge of relevant procedures including: Working with Vulnerable Adults and other legal frameworks in line with government policy To develop a working knowledge of the principles of Clinical Governance and their application to professional practice To demonstrate highly developed auditory, perceptual and analytical skills in the assessment diagnosis and treatment of patients/clients To assess, develop and implement Specialist Speech and Language Therapy Treatment to a defined specialised caseload of adult patients with a variety of communication and swallowing disorders To provide advice/training to other professionals, patients, carers and families regarding the management and care of patients with communication disorders and/or feeding and swallowing difficulties To adapt practice to meet individual patients circumstances To supervise the work of assistants and volunteers "}
