We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic individual to join a primary care team within Prison Health Care at HMP/YOI Lilias The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate an ability to work effectively to support development for this team. The role requires 1st Level Registered Adult Nurse who can demonstrate (with evidence) skills in the following area: Custodial settings or A minor injuries unit or Accident & Emergency or Drug and Alcohol Services or Treatment Room Can demonstrate ability to manage a caseload in one of the above areas Can demonstrate ability to effectively lead a team Significant post-registration experience of using specialist assessment skills and techniques to determine health and care needs, particularly when working with clients/patients who may, for example, have mental health issues, learning disabilities, language barriers, be under the influence of illicit substances, have chaotic lifestyles etc Ability to work within a team environment and autonomously using initiative. Have an ability to communicate with other professionals and disciplines. Ability to react clinically and professionally in a changing and challenging environment.
