The Vaccine and Testing (V&T) research team, lead on supporting Principal Investigators (PI) in the setup and delivery of vaccine and testing research. Building on their success in recent years the V&T research team has expanded their portfolio, recruiting into experimental medicine research studies. The team is widening its focus to include phase I and II studies in other disease areas supporting research teams conducting early phase and experimental research. Based in a purpose-built research facility, The V&T team are an integral part of the NIHR Bristol Clinical Research Facility (CRF). This opens up future opportunities working with industry and academia to further develop Bristol's global position in delivering excellent, ground breaking research. The post holder will work as an integral member of the V&T senior management team, working closely with the Performance and Operations Manager to manage and lead the team in the expansion and development of the portfolio including a growing number of complex and early phase trials. The successful post holder will provide expert clinical leadership to the V&T team. They will have comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the regulatory and legal frameworks related to the planning, undertaking and closure of clinical research studies and act as an expert resource for staff, researchers, research participants and patients. They will take an active lead in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of clinical research at UHBW. We require a person with leadership experience and a proven record of work in research, who will be self-motivated and driven to lead the team, ensuring we offer our patients a service of the highest quality. The role requires close working with colleagues across the region, therefore excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
