You will have excellent communication and organisational skills which will have been obtained in your work in previous roles. You will be providing a professional, sensitive and compassionate service, dealing with bereaved relatives and be exposed to distressing and emotive situations. The role will require working closely with clinical and non-clinical staff, the Registrar, chaplaincy service, Coroner's office as well as the Medical Examiner and funeral directors. Advanced IT and literacy skills and experience of using a range of IT applications will be required. To work alongside the Bereavement Midwives to support parents on diagnosis of a baby's death, provide ongoing support whilst in hospital and once at home. Assist the Bereavement Midwives and colleagues in delivering a caring and effective, patient focussed service in keeping with the aims, objectives and standards of the Trust. Under guidance, ensure that sensitive and appropriate care is provided to meet individuals' needs, respecting personal dignity and beliefs. Ensuring Information is handled and exchanged with care, accuracy and sensitivity, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Under the guidance, and with the support, of the Bereavement Midwives, to assist with the coordination and delivery of all aspects of Bereavement Service for families who have experienced late miscarriage, Medical Termination of Pregnancy, stillbirth and Neonatal death. Undertake Maternity Support Worker role as required to support service needs, including assisting with the maintenance of a safe care environment including preparing and clearing rooms and equipment with particular reference to infection control and safe working environment for patients, visitors and staff.
