Looking for a protected OT role? The mental health liaison team at St Thomas’ are looking for a band 7 occupational therapist to work alongside our diverse and experienced MDT. As the OT in the team, you will co-deliver training to both the MDT and the acute trust, alongside your liaison colleagues, and there is ample opportunity to develop your skills in all areas of practice. The OT also co-leads on the frequent attender work within the trust and works closely with acute colleagues to support those that frequently attend the hospital. This is a full time post, with the opportunity for flexibility, working across the working age and older adult service within the acute trust hospital. The post holder will work across the emergency pathway as well as general acute wards and provide opportunity for extensive joint working with our acute trust colleagues, and 3rd sector providers. You will have the opportunity to develop and build on assessment, supervision and liaison skills, and learn from the amazing colleagues around you too. There is a robust supervision structure, and support within the team is great, with close working with occupational therapy and AHP colleagues, psychology and dual diagnosis practitioner as well as nurses and doctors. Occupational therapy is held in high regard within the team and the post is well protected, though there is the opportunity to work more generically at times to support the wider service. St Thomas’s hospital offers care for a wide variety of presentations and specialties, so the opportunity for gaining experience and building knowledge across physical health is huge.
