The Community Rehabilitation Teams provide a service to the adult population within the various localities. This will be delivered to service users within their own home or when deemed essential as an out-patient. The primary function of this role will be to work with the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff as part of the Community Rehabilitation Team to deliver therapeutic treatment programmes to service users in their own homes, preventing hospital admission and supporting early discharge from hospital. The post holder will also be expected to hold their own caseload, assess, progress and discharge autonomously within parameters. You will have an HNC/HND in Health and Social Care or equivalent or SCQF level 8 e.g. Postural Stability Instructor or equivalent. Experience working as a therapy support worker would be essential. It would be essential to have experience working with older people as they are the main group of service users referred. Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team you will be expected to have excellent organisational skills, excellent communication skills and be able to work independently as well as within the team. Our service offers regular supervision, PDP and supports training opportunities. There may be occasions where you will be required to work in one of the other community hospital sites. The ability to travel throughout the area is essential as this is a community post. Public Holiday working is in operation. Interviews will be held face to face. Bases are to be determined, but will cover throughout Fife and it would be useful to note areas of work preference on your application, e.g. Dunfermline locality / Glenrothes locality. NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
