This role includes providing a high standard of care for patients with haematological malignancies, lymphoma and teenage oncology patients attending the day care unit, working within a recognised framework in accordance with NMC Code of Professional Conduct, The Christie Policies and Health and Safety Legislation. We require a nurse who is eager to learn new skills, such as cannulation. Venepuncture, Chemotherapy giving, providing support to all our patients, and continued learning and development through the role to enhance patient care. Working hours - Monday to Friday open hours 8-6 This role will enhance IV skills and chemotherapy administration both infusion and bolus and will require nursing patients with complex needs and supportive requirements. This role offers a vast amount of learning opportunities and working a long side a well-established multi-disciplinary team. We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated nurses who are flexible, display initiative and possess excellent communication skills. As part of our expanding services we have a band 6 vacancy. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating service delivery on the Haematology and Transplant day unit and on the Teenage and Young Adult service. Experience in Haematology or Oncology is essential, Teenage and Young adult (TYA) nursing desirable. Training and support will be given. Working hours Monday-Friday shifts between 8-6 excluding bank holidays The Christie is one of Europe’s leading cancer centres, treating over 60,000 patients a year.
