Following training, the post holder will be expected to participate in the 24/7 shift pattern, which may include working weekends and nights. The Clincal Blood Sciences laboratory operate a 24/7 shift system, providing cover to busy A&E and acute services. Cellular Pathology, Immunology and Microbiology laboratories are based at St Georges Hospital. The Biomedical Support Worker Role Includes pre-analytical sample sorting/preparation data entry receipt and maintenance of stock attending to service user telephone queries health and safety responsibilities post-analytical procedures. Although the post will not receive support in completing the IBMS Registration Portfolio, the role offers initial laboratory experience to candidates who wish to pursue a career in biomedical sciences. Full training will be provided. You should have good attention to detail and be able to follow defined protocols. You should be flexible, highly motivated, have excellent communication skills and be a strong, enthusiastic team player, fully committed to patient care. South West London Pathology (SWLP) is an NHS pathology partnership set up by St Georges University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Croydon Health Services NHS Trust and Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to provide a single, integrated pathology service across South West London and beyond. On 1 May 2021, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust joined to form an expanded SWLP partnership.
