The NHS Fife complex and critical care services - Learning Disability service has exciting opportunities for registered Learning Disability or Mental health nurses to join the teams within their Inpatient services. These teams are dedicated to providing the highest quality of life outcomes, support, and rehabilitation to individuals on their pathways from admission to discharge. Mayfield Assessment and treatment, 14 bedded unit, Tayview is a 2 bedded bespoke unit that provides support to people over the age of 18 with learning disabilities , mental health problems and behaviors that challenge within the Fife area.The nursing team currently consists of a senior charge nurse, charge nurses, staff nurses and health care support workers. As part of the team you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care and supporting the health and well-being needs of individuals with a learning disability, additional support need and behaviours that may challenge, under the guidance of Senior Nurses. Duties Include Comprehensive nursing and health care assessments. Health Screening and onward referrals. Risk assessments Mental health assessment Multidisciplinary planning and treatment implementation Supervision of junior staff The Minimum Requirements Relevant 1st level nursing qualification Registered Nurse Learning Disabilities or registered Mental Health Nurse Knowledge of current legal frameworks to support inpatient care delivery Ability to communicate with a wide range of individuals and groups. Highly motivated and conscientious. Experience of care planning for complex health care needs. Ability to work flexibly to meet the demands of the Service. A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment. NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
