The role of the Porter is to support the smooth day to day operational running of our hospital through assisting patient flow that will provide a safe healthcare environment that meets our patient’s expectations. General Portering duties will include the safe transport of patients and medical gases throughout the hospital site. The Successful Candidates Will Be Required To Perform portering duties in allocated areas of the hospital site, including Pharmacy, Pathology, Radiology, Post Room, Waste Team, Goods Distribution Centre, Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. Transport patients within the allocated hospital site in line with Trust policies and departmental procedures. Adopt a caring, polite and professional manner when transporting patients. Use of radios for communication with other members of the Portering team. Use of telephones and radios for allocation of daily duties. Safe collection and delivery of beds, blood products, specimens, pharmacy products, medical equipment, furniture and other equipment around the allocated hospital site(s). Ensure wheelchairs are cleaned after patient use. Use of departmental portering computer system.
