The Band 6 role will be essential to support the development and implementation of ongoing improvement projects. Ward 11 is currently a 31 bedded ward with a Nursed Enhanced Unit, which contains 4 beds. Nurses can follow a nurse led protocol to manage patients post operatively with the support of the vascular medical team and peri – operative team. Ward 11 is a hub for vascular patients and receives patient’s from Scarborough to Harrogate. We receive patients both acutely and electively, alongside patients that are sent in from clinics across our region. Applications are invited from enthusiastic and experienced nurses to join our dedicated and passionate team. Applicants will be expected to have least 3 years experience as a Band 5 or equivalent, with a genuine passion and drive, who are committed to maintaining and improving care. We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated nurse who can provide clinical leadership to our nursing team. The successful candidate must be committed to ensuring the delivery of safe, compassionate, high quality care. They will have proven clinical, management, and teaching experience, and must have the ability to communicate and support their colleagues, our patients and their families/carers. Maintain a high standard of patient focused care in accordance with York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust policies and procedures Maintain a safe and clean working environment Provide assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring accurate written records are kept Communicate with patients and carers to ensure they have access to appropriate information Promote and maintain positive relationships between all staff involved in the care of the patient Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct Undertake duties on different wards/departments as and when required by service demands Demonstrate personal responsibility for compliance with infection control policies and procedures Education and Training The role is to consistently drive excellent clinical quality standards by providing visible clinical leadership to the team, and support them in the delivery of high quality, effective and evidence based care. Focus will be on patient experience, patient safety and providing assurance that standards are met for every patient, every time. This will be a multifaceted role comprising of clinical support to the junior team and running in collaboration with the current Band 6 and Band 7 working towards service improvement, clinical governance and the on-going professional development of their team.
