The Emergency Department has excellent working links with Critical Care and Acute Medicine, in-patient surgical teams (General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Plastics) and Obstetrics and Gynaecology. We are evolving our education programme to involve the entire clinical team, have introduced simulation training. All new staff will undertake comprehensive mentorship and support with clinical development. Clinical orientation involves a supernumerary shift within the major’s area and rapid area. Acute UK experience essential. We are the North of Scotland trauma centre and have a highly motivated Trauma Team established within the department integrating Emergency Medicine Teams with both Surgical and Intensive Care Unit Specialties.
