The role of Associate Dean for DFT will have responsibility for the Dental Foundation Training programme within the South West and will be in a position to influence developments and meet future workforce needs. The associate dean will work with and support the Postgraduate Dean in leading the delivery of a wide range of functions within DFT, aligned to the NHS England mandate. The Associate Dean will ensure that both national standards and also guidelines and standards established within the South West are met.   There is a sessional availability of 4 sessions per week for this role. The Associate Dean will have a key role in the quality management of Dental Foundation Training across the geography, working collaboratively with local Training Programme Directors, other regional Associate Dental Deans and NHSE staff. The post holder will be expected to support and drive forward the recommendations of Advancing Dental Care and the Dental Education Reform Programme within the South West.
